During the battle phase, you command Human Tanks in order to defeat your enemy. The battle ends when the victory or defeat condition is fulfilled.

When you click a unit with the word CONNECT displayed above it, you may take direct command of it. If there are no units displaying CONNECT, simply wait until one appears. Transmission speed affects the rate at which tanks enter the CONNECT state.

A blue mark beside a unit indicates that it is under your command, and a red mark indicates that it is an enemy unit.

The amount of supplies you receive after battle is based on the number of enemy units you have destroyed. Defeating as many enemies as possible gives you an advantage in the next battle.

When you lose, in most cases the game ends. However, there are some exceptions in which the game continues on even after losing. In that case, you will still receive supplies as if you won. Moreover, the result of the battle affects how the main story progresses.

3. Menu
You may bring up the system menu or battle log, confirm the victory and defeat conditions, or pause the game.

4. Log

1. Battlefield
Displays name of the battlefield.

2. Status
Displays selected unit's status.

3. Unit Information
Displays selected unit's name and modules.

4. Command
Displays actions that can be taken after selecting a unit in CONNECT state.

Attack
Orders a unit to attack an enemy within range. You may choose to attack empty tiles or your own units as well. In this game, enemies may be hidden from sight in UNKNOWN tiles. Attacking UNKNOWN tiles you suspect enemies may be hiding in is a valid strategy. As you progress in development, you may assemble stronger tanks with greater range and area of attack allowing you to destroy more units at a time.

Move
Orders a unit to move. You may not cancel the order, so tread carefully. If you encounter an enemy while moving across UNKNOWN tiles, you may not be able to reach your initial destination. Be especially careful when moving across UNKNOWN tiles.

Recon
Orders a unit to scan an area. By scanning UNKNOWN tiles, you can discover the location of enemy units. In this game, standard battle progression flows as so: Recon, Enemy Sighted, Attack, and Destroy.

Standby
Orders a unit to standby. The unit's turn ends when selected (it cannot act again until it goes into CONNECT state). You may use it if you wish to reach the time limit faster.

Intercept
A command only usable by interceptor tanks. This command replaces the attack command, and makes the unit enter a state in which it will shoot down all missiles within its intercept range.

Special Command
When equipped with certain modules, an extra command is displayed at the top of the command panel allowing usage of the module. There are many single use modules that you can take advantage of.
